An over cast morning in Argentier. We enjoyed fresh baguette and pastries We started the day with a visit to the bakery, then drove to Chamonix and took the Flegere lift up. It was Mike’s, Mum’s, and Doug’s first-ever chair lift, so they were quite excited to experience it for the first time.
From the top, we decided to follow the Tour Mont Blanc route towards the Brevent lift. The weather cleared for us, and the views were absolutely stunning with bright blue skies!
Just below the Brevent lift, I left Mum and Mike so they could walk down to the Brevent car park. The plan was for me to run back along the GR20 route and down to the Flegere car park. The run was fantastic—over 7.5km, I dropped more than 1000m with superb views and interesting terrain. There were no complaints from me!
I made it back to the car park, then drove over to meet them at the other car park. We walked down into Chamonix and enjoyed beers, frites, and crepes in the sun with the stunning backdrop of Mont Blanc!
