Crib Lem

This weekend, we’d originally planned a trip to Scotland, but the weather just wasn’t playing ball. So, we decided to stay closer to home in Wales—and lucky for us, snow finally arrived! Eryri was transformed into a proper winter wonderland.

El and I were buzzing when Tarquin and Lou invited us to join them for a scramble up Crib Lem. A day in the snow? Absolutely! We parked up in Bethesda and began the walk in toward the base of the scramble. After a few kilometres of trudging through boggy ground, we finally hit the snowline. The approach was already shaping up to be an adventure.

At the base of the scramble, it was time to gear up—crampons on, ice axes out, and off we went. The route was busy, but the vibe was amazing—everyone seemed to be loving the day as much as we were.

After reaching the top, we paused for a quick lunch, soaking in the views before heading back down the hill. The day ended perfectly with a well-earned cuppa at Tarquin and Lou’s place.

It felt incredible to get out in proper winter conditions—and even better, it was all just a 20-minute drive from home!
